Linear Regression - Least Squares Criterion. In this video I just give a quick overview of linear regression and what the 'least square criterion' actually means. In the second video, I will actually use my data points to find the linear regression / model.
This is a common technique that one would encounter in any statistics or data modeling class.
Note that while the computations are a bit tedious, the idea is simple enough: use a linear function to help predict what will happen with our data!
Notice this also relates to the r value, the correlation coefficient.
