Hello everyone, today we will be assembling and painting the USMC LAV-25 (light armored vehicle) produced by Trumpeter plastic model kits. This is a little bit different than the tanks I am used to putting together as this is a 8 wheeled, 4 wheel drive light armored vehicle. The LAV-25 is a military vehicle of Canadian origin is based on the Grizzly and Swiss Piranha light armored vehicles and was procured by the USMC in the early 1980's. The LAVB-25 is equipped with a 25 mm Bushmaster Auto Cannon, and is a great infantry support platform which was used to quickly ferry troops in an out of the battle but is primarily used for reconnaissance now. The LAV-25 is in service with a number of countries, in different variations depending on mission requirements. The LAV-25 is still one of my favorite vehicles and has paved the way for the light armored vehicles which came after it, particularly the Striker.
The Trumpeter LAV-25 in 1/35th scale can be had for CHEAP now since the kit is older. Check Amazon for one, I am sure you will get a good deal.
