How to Unlock and Reset Security Code on a Heritage Gun Safe (NL Security Keypad)
Steps on how to unlock and reset the security code on a Heritage gun safe with NL security keypad:
1. Unlock the safe door using your security code. Use “123456” if the safe or if the security keypad is new. Rotate clockwise to unlock the door.
2. With the door open, put in in lock position by rotating the door wheel counterclockwise. This is best practice to avoid getting locked out from the safe in case of any error during the code change process.
3. Long hold the number “0” for about 3 seconds until a double beep sounds. Within this timeframe, enter your current code or use “123456” or f the safe or keypad is new.
The keypad will beep twice if the code entered is correct. During this timeframe, enter your new 6-digit code. The keypad will beep twice. Reenter the new code and the keypad will beep twice if the code matches. The code reset is done.
4. Try unlocking the door using your new code by entering the code into the keypad. If the door unlocks successfully, the code reset worked. Repeat the lock/unlock process several times for safe measure and muscle memory before closing the door.
