Goodbye
August 1st 2021 to August 1st 2024. A journey comes to an end.
In these three years I have created over 440 SMG4 translations. At the end of 2021 I translated the 2020 episodes. Then the 2019 episodes at the beginning of 2022. Then the 2018 episodes in mid-2022 and finally the 2017 episodes untill Summer 2023. Six years of SMG4 plus half of 2024, all translated on this channel.
The reason why I've stopped making translating is quite simple. I have much more to do in life now than before, and therefore less time for translations. And that's fine! I started as a high school student, now I'm starting university. Times change! 😉 Of course I still love SMG4 and will continue to actively follow the series. And who knows - maybe I'll return sometime in the future as well! You never know what life will throw your way. But for now, this is the end.
I would like to thank different people:
First of all, thank you to all my viewers. Over the years as a translator, I have always dreamed of publishing my translations right alongside the original video. I'm aware that the majority of my viewers have of course always watched the English version first. So it's even nicer to see that many of you still watch my translations, leave likes and write comments regardless. Thank you so much!
Next, I'd like to thank Stunrix for the inspiration to start this project. I came across Stunrix in June 2021 because that's when he started reacting to SMG4. Back then I was like - a German person reacting to SMG4 - whaaaat? Well, unfortunately the subtitles on these videos used to be so bad, so I took the work into my own hands. Since his first reaction to my Subway translation back in September 2021, it's been a highlight every time he posts a reaction to my translation. It was an amazing time.
I would also like to thank the smaller reaction channels. The very first reaction to one of my translations was from Woodic, and I remember how happy I was about it! 😅 I kept searching Youtube for “SMG4 German” to see who was reacting to the translations, and it always put a smile on my face when they did!
Last but not least, a big thank you to the SMG4 team and the international SMG4 community. You guys are amazing! I'm so excited to see what the future has in store for the series and the fanbase in general.
If you're a new viewer who came across my channel months/years later, then don't worry. I'm still active in the SMG4 community and can be found there. And hey - perhaps I'll motivate one or two of you to create your own translations as well? 👀
