In this episode of BI for BIM we walk through the full workflow in Frame:
Upload a BIM model from your computer (Revit / IFC / etc.)
Or connect a model directly from Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
Wait for processing
Choose the Starter Template
Download the Power BI template (.PBIT)
Open it in Power BI Desktop and load your model dataset
We also explain what’s inside the Starter Template:
✅ Core model elements table (walls, beams, columns, doors, etc.)
✅ Properties dataset (all parameters for each element)
✅ Extra context like views
✅ Report layout (4 pages): Overview, Full 3D Viewer, Data + Filters, Object Hierarchy
✅ How the Frame 3D Viewer works (Autodesk Viewer + custom extensions) — including saved views, isolations, camera/zoom, and color states that persist when you save the report.
📌 Next episodes: quantity takeoffs, ACC issues dashboards, clash dashboards, model health, version control, and 4D/5D workflows.
If you’re using BIM data for reporting, project controls, or decision-making, this series is for you.
