What is the Illustrator paint bucket and how do I use it?
The Illustrator paint bucket is a tool that allows us to easily fill areas of a drawing that has been previously converted to Live Paint. For example, if we wanted to quickly color sections of an illustration, we could simply convert the entire drawing into a Live Paint group using the Object - Live Paint - Create menu, open the paint bucket with the K key, select a color from the Swatches panel, and click the areas to be filled.
Be careful, though: converting a drawing into a Live Paint group will place all the paths on the same flat surface, and it will not be possible to restore the drawing to its original state unless we expand the group into its individual components.
