What is LAMBDA with Excel?
LAMBDA is a way to turn Excel formulas into custom functions.
This is fairly big, because most people wouldn't consider Excel a full-fledged programming language, but with LAMBDA that is probably what will push it over the edge.
With LAMBDA you are able to create your own custom, reusable functions, and those are key parts of a programming language.
Expanding on this idea of Excel becoming a programming language of its own, is that it has been expanding the type of data it can hold, beyond its original usage of only numbers and strings. There are more data types and even dynamic arrays can be used.
And, perhaps the most important part, not only can you essentially create any function, but other Excel users would be able to "call" functions and potentially build libraries and things of that nature.
This could be huge because this move could easily launch Excel and LAMBDA into the most popular official programming language, because so many people already use it as is.
