The most popular general-purpose row-crop tractor in the former Soviet Union was and remains the MTZ-82 tractor, a 1.4-liter traction class, manufactured at the Minsk Tractor Plant.
However, the Belarus tractor has recently gained competition in Russia – a tractor manufactured by Lovol Heavy Industry, an industrial concern in Shandong Province, People's Republic of China.
Lovol factories produce agricultural tractors with power ratings ranging from 24 to 150 horsepower. Automobiles and special-purpose equipment are also manufactured under the Foton brand.
The Lovol-804 wheeled tractor (third generation), a 1.4-liter traction class, is equipped with a four-cylinder, four-liter diesel engine.
The engine's rated power is 80 horsepower, with a maximum torque of 288 Nm at 1,500 rpm. The fuel tank capacity is 145 liters.
The engine is coupled with a wide-range transmission with reverse (12 forward and 12 reverse speeds), and a dry, twin-disc clutch.
The Lovol-804 tractor has a maximum transport speed of 33 km/h, and an operating weight of 3.9 tons.
The Lovol-804 tractor is equipped with a modern, comfortable cab with panoramic windows, a heater, and air conditioning.
The tractor is equipped with hydraulic power steering and an adjustable steering column.
4x4 all-wheel drive (with a engageable front axle and differential lock), large wheels, and 400 mm of ground clearance allow the Lovol-804 to be used as a row-crop tractor and as a general-purpose tractor.
The rear two-speed PTO (540/1000) and rear linkage with a lifting capacity of up to 3.3 tons are designed for coupling the tractor with a variety of mounted and trailed equipment for agricultural and municipal work.
The price of the Lovol-804 tractor in Russia is almost the same as the all-wheel drive MTZ Belarus-82.1 tractor.
