PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!
I have only just noticed that at 10 mins 43 seconds, I make a mistake and mention that the old light and fog battery were decommissioned in 1987. I meant to say 1887. I also put that North and South took over in the 1900s but this was also the 1800s. I was going to take the video down and amend it but thought it would be quicker and easier to mention it here.
Description:
For the next 11 days I’m back on one of my favourite places to work.....Lundy.
Located in the Bristol Channel, 12 miles off the North Devon coast, this relatively small island is home to some incredible scenery, amazing wildlife, great people… and 2 active Lighthouses. The 3rd was the original Lighthouse, however it was decommissioned many years ago.
In this video I’ll be working at both North and South Light carrying out various corrective maintenance tasks but also have the rare opportunity to actually explore the Island once we have finished work.
From helicopter flights and cliff-top views to life on the island and evenings spent in the pub meeting new faces and sharing stories. This trip is a pretty typical visit to Lundy for us. Although every trip always has different highlights, you never know what's going to happen and who you're going to meet.
If you enjoy lighthouses, engineering, island life and exploring places most people never get to see, you’re in the right place.
I hope you enjoy the video.
