3BO: What A Boom Op Really Does - Sound Speeds
Ask someone what a boom operator does and if they've even heard of the one, they'll say "It's the guy holding the pole". That's such an oversimplification of the job yet I doubt you think of Steve Jobs as just a guy that talked about Apple products before he died.
Where to start and what to limit the job to is in itself a challenge but here's an overview. Please note that there's so much more depth I could go into and I will but for right now, here's a broad overview.
