The penultimate track on Los Halos' final album, 2003’s leaving va., The Back Home is a classic kiss off song. Melding violin, harmonica, and twangy guitar in a slow build as frontman Samezvous admonishes someone to keep it honest and keep it real, it’s one among many fine songs on a lost album by a band that burned brightly in some corner of the country for a few short years.
