A Bidirectional Converter with Storage System Management for Residential Applications | Matlab | Power Electronics |

Under the sustainable smart grid paradigm, the smart house with its home energy management system (HEMS) plays an important role to improve the efficiency, economics, reliability, and energy conservation for distribution systems. Smart home electricity management systems (HEMS) are becoming increasingly popular for providing uninterrupted power and improved power quality, as well as for reducing the cost of electricity consumption. The energy transfer between a DC voltage source and an AC voltage source, and vice versa, was the basis of this system which is essential for smart home energy management. The association in series of a DC–DC stage and a DC–AC stage ensured this principle of operation with these two stages being necessarily bidirectional. Inverter mode and rectifier mode operates the overall transfer of power and improves the efficiency of the management system based on the intelligent system. Thus HEMS set the amount of energy to be injected into the grid or to be stored.
