"chivalry is dead" is about a young high schooler who got asked out on her first date. however, things have always gotten a bit awkward with her mother on the topic of relationships. so, in an effort to get advice without really being direct, she pretends she's asking for her friend and not herself. things make a lighthearted turn when her mother reacts in a way she didn't quite expect.

i'd be lying if i said this script didn't resonate with my younger self. my hope was to capture the essence of youth, familial bonding and vulnerability. being young is scary but opening up to others can lead to unexpected surprises. everybody needs somebody.
