Periscope via OBS Studio Live Stream - Encoder Setup
Periscope Live Streaming using OBS Studio requires a simple setup. Make certain to go to the settings option on OBS and the 'Producer' web page on Periscope. From there 'Create New Source' and follow the Help Center as well as this video guide can help.
Settings as per the Help Center -
Configuring an External Video Source:
Enter the 'Primary Server' as RTMP URL/Web Address (This step isn't required for OBS) and 'Stream Name' as Source ID/Stream Name into your external encoder software and open the connection. (This step is required for OBS)
On OBS: go to Settings - Stream
On Wirecast: go to Output - Output Settings
Destination: RTMP Server
Input Key Settings (make sure to input these accurately)
Video bitrate & codec: 2500 kbps (recommended), 4000 kbps (max), H.264 (On OBS it's NVENC H.264)
Audio bitrate & codec: 128 kbps AAC-LC
Framerate: 30 fps
Resolution: 1280 x 720 (Try your PC monitors resolution as shown in this video guide, if it doesn't work use this one)
Keyframe interval: Every 3 seconds (OBS) or keyframe every 90 frames (Wirecast)
Start Streaming from the encoder or device (Make sure to save settings and click ok, then exit it and click on 'Start Stream' for OBS)
Supported encoders and services: OBS, Wirecast, Teradek, Elemental, Switchboard Live Joicaster, LiveStream, FFMpeg, Tricaster, Telescope, LiveU, vMix, and Vidpresso.
