Pacific Surfliner No. 583 with Great Dome - 12/31/2017
This is an interesting, not your typical Surfliner consist. From the converted F40PH "cabbage" (cab control plus baggage) unit on the head end to the P42 locomotive on the rear, there's a lot to take in, including the 62-year old "Great" Dome lounge. Horizon fleet coaches and an Amfleet business class car fill out the consist. The train appears very clean - the Amfleet car is shining like a new nickel.
