How to cut a tile at 45 degrees? And what do you need to do it?
Many people have probably made the same mistake, trying to make a 45-degree angle without any help.
At first, I thought I could just cut it with a cutting wheel. 😀
Luckily, I tried this on some tiles I didn't need, and it chipped.
Then I finally figured out how to do it, bought a backing plate and a flexible disc... and back to work. I left a couple of mm from the face, made a rough angle, and thought I'd just sand it and it would be perfect!! 🤣 No such luck.
I sanded for a long time, but to no avail, and what's more, the tile turned black along with the disc. I turned to a professional, who would become my future tiling sensei, asking what was going on and what I was doing wrong... It turned out I had a 2000-grit abrasive, and I needed to start with 50-100.
