The streaming wars have reached a next stage and is Apple Music becoming better than Spotify. Spotify has announced to kick off with direct artist deals which will shake the music industry on it's foundations, especially for new, upcoming artists. But why is this a huge deal?
Nowadays, more than ever before we listen to music through streaming platforms, and they are battling for your monthly paid subscription. There are many elements that we could consider in choosing the right service that could fit all of our needs, both as a listener and as an artist.
Let me take you to brief, but simple history lesson on how we arrived in the age of music streaming and why music business models change over time. What is our influence on them and where will this go in the near future? This is topic that has fascinated me over the years and was even my subject of my bachelor thesis!
