corrections:
2026-04-09: you should jump as soon as you can after getting out of the boat. this usually should improve the chance of the arrow actually hitting the dragon
2024-12-01: as of today (week 10 start) dragon initial rotation is now standardized again, so everything here should work.
2026-01-12: i should have made this update a long time ago but as of 2024-11-10 there is a setting in the ranked client (settings, generic settings) called "One-Shot Lag Fix" which can prevent the lag caused by zero oneshot. this will make the TPS graph on alt+f3 less useful for perch oneshot, but has no downside for zero oneshot.

command to generate dragon path: execute as @e[type=ender_dragon,limit=1] at @s run summon snowball ^ ^ ^-.5 {NoGravity:1b}

warning, /kill the dragon after you get all the necessary points to prevent too many snowballs from spawning, they will lag your game. or use area_effect_clouds.

command to get coords to nearest snowball: data get entity @e[type=snowball,limit=1,sort=nearest] Pos

OLD description (no longer accurate as of week 10 or 2024-12-01):
as of week 2, the dragon is completely unstandardized. vanilla zero oneshot is still possible, and likely meta in future weeks, but will be at best around 6% to hit. pinned comment by redlime was made during week 1 and holds true. i will not make further updates to this description. the method in this video could still be useful in certain scouted seed situations.
