IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO INSTALL A GUI ON UBUNTU SERVER AS IT MAY IMPACT YOUR SERVER PERFORMANCE DUE TO THE OVERHEAD CREATED. THIS IS BECAUSE LINUX DOES NOT NATIVELY RUN A GUI LIKE WINDOWS DOES.

apt-get update
apt-get install mate-core mate-desktop-environment mate-notification-daemon
sed -i.bak '/fi/a #xrdp multiple users configuration \n mate-session \n' /etc/xrdp/startwm.sh
service xrdp restart
