So, I watched the russian tv series about Catherine the Great, and it was totally awesome! I loved the actors and the scenery and everything:) I liked Russia even as little girl, I was totally in love with Evgeni Plushenko!
So, I really liked female characters on this show, I have to say I ship Catherine with everyone, including Peter, I think they had complicated relationship, but i find it interesting. I like Catherine also on her own, because she is really strong character.
Well, what inspired me to watch this? Actually, i didnt pass the exam from russian language :( the only exam i didnt pass, which is driving me crazy little bit :( i have to sign into the course next year, from now, i am watching everything russian guys ;)

Catherine was supposed to marry tsarevitch Peter.
She fell in love with Sergei, one of the tsarevitches "friends".
And he for her.
Catherine married Peter, who didnt care about her at all.
After years she made Sergei her lover, and because Russia needed an heir, there was a high pressure on their relationship from Empress Elizabeth. At the end, they did have a son, and because they claimed him to be Peters, he was an heir to Russian throne.
After the birth Sergei was send to abroad, leaving Catherine alone and she never forgave him for that.
