Jetpack Compose: How to Track Internet Connectivity (Real-Time Network Status)
In this Programming Daily Dose, we build a clean way to 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗝𝗲𝘁𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲.
Instead of guessing if the network is “probably fine”, we:
• ask Android for real connectivity updates using ConnectivityManager
• stream them with callbackFlow
• expose them as a StateFlow in a ViewModel
• and update the UI in Compose when the status changes
