In this video we’re going to talk about SkinnyTok and the way obsession, shame and restriction are becoming more and more normalized online. What makes this side of TikTok so dangerous is that a lot of the content doesn’t even look shocking anymore: it’s often presented as “discipline”, “self-improvement”, or just harmless weight loss advice.
We’ll look at influencers encouraging girls to skip meals and obsess over becoming thinner, as well as creators making comments like “dress your weight” or “act your weight”, turning body size into something shameful.
Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section and remember: you are perfect the way you are 🤍
See you next week!
