The Old Net: The Internet as it once was!
When the World Wide Web turned 30, http://theoldnet.com/ unleashed to appreciate the Internet for what it was.
It makes use of the "Way Back Macine" (archive.org), but cleverly strips out stuff that allows for the page cashes (well, a lot of them) to display in retro browsers. This is pretty cool, because you can enjoy the retro Internet on retro devices, computers, and video game consoles, by simply visiting a website.
Check it out! If you grew up in the 90s, it is a real trip. It is similar to reading a magazine from that time and enjoying the nostalgia (I get the same feeling reading a Nintendo Power from the same era).
The one thing I wish I could revisit is all the chat rooms from back then. ASL, anyone? HA HA HA!
