When an Intransitive verb takes a cognate object in the active voice, it can be changed in the passive. A Cognate object is a noun already implied in the verb.
It is a direct object that has same linguistic derivation as the herb which governs it.
More specifically, the verb is one that is ordinarily intransitive (lacking any object), and the Cognate Object is simply the verb's noun form.
Example.
He slept a sound sleep . "sleep" is the Cognate Object of the verb "slept".
