Two serial killers, Artyom Anufriev and Nikita Lytkin, terrorized the Irkutsk academic campus for several months in 2010-2011. They filmed their crimes. This footage became the primary evidence of their guilt. The sadists were nicknamed the "Irkutsk Hammerheads" and the "Academy Maniacs."
In the winter of 2021, 28-year-old Nikita Lytkin committed suicide in the penal colony.
