This Isn't The End - an original wizard rock song
I couldn't sleep the other night, and so this got written. A lovely cheesy wizard rock song to sum up my feelings about the last film coming out. I'm very sorry if you don't like Harry Potter - just don't watch the video! But love to all you Potterheads out there xx
This was in part inspired by the 'thank you' project by / theronweasleygeneration
LYRICS:
This isn't really the end.
It's not really goodbye, after all.
Have you forgotten, my friend?
Do you see the red glow of your rememberall?
'Cause everything we've every learnt from Harry and his friends
And the stories that have grown to more than stories as we've grown
We'll carry with us in our hearts until the very end
For Hogwarts will always be there to welcome us home.
Home.
From Harry I learnt love is the greatest magic one can make.
From Luna, being myself is being the best of me.
From Dumbledore, even the best of us are allowed to make mistakes.
From Neville that it's never too late to become who I was meant to be.
And as the Gryffindors sang 'Weasley is our King'
I learnt that wealth and fame are not as great as loyalty of bravery.
From Hermione I learnt that there are more important things
Than books and cleverness, like friendship and leading house elves out of slavery.
And everything we've every learnt from Harry and his friends
And the stories that have grown to more than stories as we've grown
We'll carry with us in our hearts until the very end
For Hogwarts will always be there to welcome us home.
Friends we've made through wizard rock, tumblr, YouTube and leaky con,
Real life and, one day, Pottermore, well they'll live on.
And as the Battle of Hogwarts comes to an end, we'll raise our lit wands to the sky
And remind ourselves that 'all was well' as we're trying not to cry.
And as the final credits roll
And it feels like dementors are sucking out our souls
And we can't cast patronuses, 'cause we're muggles in the end,
We'll eat Honeydukes chocolate and feel warm inside again...
'Cause everything we've every learnt from Harry and his friends
And the stories that have grown to more than stories as we've grown
We'll carry with us in our hearts until the very end
For Hogwarts will always be there to welcome us home.
So thank you Jo.
For Hogwarts will always be there to welcome us home.
