Making cinematic and realistic vfx or sequences is now faster and more accessible than ever. Real time graphics and what are now game engines like Unreal Engine will become an integral part of filmmaking in the future.
I wanted to share a recent discovery I made with the new incredible version of Unreal Engine. UE5 now has Lumen which is a powerful lighting addition that can be mixed and combined with other lighting passes. Making the old ways of rendering the lighting in your scene useful by using them as a lighting pass that you can tweak and manipulate when compositing in After Effects or Nuke.
