What Every Developer Must Know About User-Interface Design and UX

Now that the technology playing-field has been levelled out in the 21st century, talented Indian developers and IT professionals find their products, services, and projects often being rejected, or find low success or even outright failure, attributed to the poor user-interface design and UX. With all else equal, companies prefer to hire a developer who understands UI design and UX. Yet sadly, Indian developers still think that design is not their problem or priority. This talk starts by addressing how we must correct our existing workflow of design and development, including tools and techniques, and what are the core fundamental principles which have to be understood by developers about UI design and UX. It teaches developers how they can spot design-trends, how they may transform their designs from amateurish to professional, and how to arrive at the core of every user-interface design and UX task. As a take-home, more than 2 years of my research into the many dimensions of UI design and UX will be shared with the participants as a downloadable mindmap file.
