At the end of 2019, amendments were adopted to the legislation, namely to paragraph 10 of Article 11 of the Federal Law "On Consumer Credit (Loan)", which provide the consumer with the opportunity to return part of the money spent on insurance.
So, from September 1, 2020, the insurance company must return part of the insurance fee to the borrower who repays the consumer loan or credit early in full, subject to the following conditions:
the borrower acts as the policyholder, i.e. he pays for the insurance under the voluntary insurance contract;
the borrower has filed an application for a refund of part of the fee;
there are no events with signs of an insured event
