How to Convert iPhone HEIC Photos to JPEG
Apple is replacing the JPEG image format with the new HEIC alternative, as seen on iPhones starting with iOS 11.
HEIC is the file format Apple has chosen for the new standard. It uses modern and advanced compression methods, allowing you to create digital photos in smaller file sizes, all while maintaining superior image quality compared to its JPEG alternative.
Currently, there are problems opening HEIC files on Windows. You can import them to your hard drive, but when you click on them, you won't be able to see the photos. Windows doesn't yet recognize them, and at the moment, there are no HEIC-compatible photo editors that I know of that can handle the format. For now, what we can do is convert from HEIC to JPG using the link to the page I'll leave below.
If, for example, you want to share photos via email, WhatsApp, or on social media, iOS 11 will convert the images to JPEG when you want to share them with friends who aren't iPhone users.
