I believe the best way to learn the piano is by learning to play songs you can already sing on all twelve keys of the piano and not by learning to sight-read, sight-play or learning the names of complex chords.
We all have music in us in the form of songs. Right from infancy, we've always danced, sang along and cried to songs. We are all intrinsically connected to music through songs.
Hence, the most organic way to learn a musical instrument should be to focus on connecting that musical instrument to the songs already planted in our soul, and in the process of learning to to play these songs on different scales/keys, skills such as chords, chord progressions, chord inversions, arpeggios/broken chords, chord rhythms and modulations are learnt as a byproduct.
All you need to start is to know the seven sounds of music; do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti. You also need to know their respective alphabetic tag on the piano I.e C, D, E, F, G, A, B. That's all!!!
