GIMP (FREE) - Create Circle Image using Mask macOS Monterey
Fact: there are no circle images, you only see a circle part.
gimp.org tutorial (gimp.org/tutorials/CircleImage/) uses erasing the selection to create a circle image (version, platform, date not mentioned). The video above uses 'Mask' that I think it's easier - no need to add alpha channel, less steps.
