Build Mac OS Menu Bar URL Shortener Application Without Using XCode!
Every Mac OS user knows that mac menu bar applications are a total life saver and they are extremely useful. So, as a developer I decided to create a custom mac menu bar application to see the development process. This is a very simple Mac OS menu bar project called "Short URL Shortener" which is used to shorten URL's in a useful way. It has been created using Python with Rumps, Pyshorteners, Clipboard and Validators libraries. It does only work on mac, however since it is Python code it is not difficult to create a Windows or Linux version.
This video is a basic introductory video on how you can develop custom mac menu bar applications without using Xcode. This can especially be useful if your machine is an older mac and Xcode run not so smoothly and building a project is taking ages.
As always feel free to tweak it and add your own functionalities to it. That would be great. Also let me know if you have any cool small project ideas :)
