As if it were a system upgrade, the term Web3 has been flooding the media and social networks for over a year now, generating noise and hope in equal parts. Web3 was born with the idea of giving the control of the Internet back to the user and transforming it into a decentralised, interconnected and less corporate-controlled space through technologies such as blockchain, tokenisation, the DAO and the Metaverse. Although it sounds utopian, this may be a reality in the very near future.

Music and its industry, that historically are not very resilient to change and has an existential crisis in relation to streaming and the monetisation of recorded music, is one of the sectors most likely to enter disruption through the expansion of Web3. In this context, the Web3 Music Summit seeks to answer the questions that may arise in this regard. In the Espacio Cultural Serrería Belga on the 7th and 8th of June, organised by Primavera Pro, with the support of the Madrid City Council and programmed by GUZZU, several activities will be held that seek collaboration and innovation in the music sector, and for the first time at a national level, focuses on the new reality between Web3 and music. More independent artists, with their own forms of monetisation, control of their data and royalties, self-sufficient creative communities and record labels where the fan also invests and cooperates in editorial decisions. These are just some of the alternatives that are opening up for the future of the music scene and that the Web3 Music Summit wants to put on the table.
