Trim Function in Excel
The TRIM function in Excel is a text function that removes extra spaces from a text string, leaving only single spaces between words. It is used by typing =TRIM(cell_reference) and then pressing Enter. To clean up your data, enter the formula in a new column, apply it to the cells, and then copy and paste the results as values to replace the formulas before deleting the original column.
