the above line carries power from the Hoover Dam to LA. The background on this is that is actually an unloaded line, believe it or not. One of the circuit breakers fails and the airgap interupter opens hot. This was a controlled test with no load on the line. Had their been a load the metal would have been vaporized (the line caries 1000 Megawatts regularly).
