LOCKDOWN REGIONS AROUND UKRAINE
As of April 9, 2021 the following Ukraine cities have been designated "RED" zone and gone into lockdown…
Kiev, Odessa, Zhytomyr, TransCarpathian, Sumy, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Lviv, Nikolaev, Chernigov, Zaporozhye, Khmelnitsky and Kiev
TOTAL BAN:
all public events;
restaurants, except take-out orders
all entertainment venues
swimming pools, gyms, fitness centers
schools, with the exception of kindergartens to grade 4
Many cities have now introduced more strict quarantine measures, such as: Ternopol although only designated ORANGE zone, since April 8th quarantine measures have tightened.
And other cities don't even call it "lockdown", but rather call it "enhanced quarantine or additional measures", maybe trying to duck the bad PR?
Chernigov is in the red zone from March 29th, additional bans were introduced from April 8th
Nikolaev is on lockdown since March 24th.
Kharkov from today, April 10th quarantine measures will begin.
Dnepr, from March 24 to April 13 quarantine measures were enacted.
ABOUT CURFEWS
While no curfews are currently in effect anywhere in Ukraine, the powers at be are considering imposing a currency if the 3rd WAVE COVID numbers down let up soon.
Closer look at Kiev's Lockdown:
Spring lockdown started March 20th, then was extended and officially will end on April 6th, but we’ve got it on good authority that the current Kyiv lockdown will have a force majour extension due to Ukraine’s current SEVERE COVID THIRD WAVE #’s, so it will likely be extended at least until after Ukraine’s popular May holidays (ending May 12th) to discourage travel during this big travel holiday for Ukrainian families.
Restaurants
Are only allowed to operate for take-out orders, and many are completely closed due to lack of orders. Many restaurant owners are saying take out orders and down several times from the first lockdown March 19th to ???
One of the obvious public clue’s is that restaurant’s haven’t received notice that they can re-open on April 16th, whereas when past lockdowns ended they received 2 weeks notice.
Public transportation
Operating on severely reduced schedule and routing, but only for essential service workers that have special passes, and the police is out in full force checking for violators, who face heavy fines.
Schools & Daycare
CLOSED
Offices
Kyiv’s mayor Vitali Klitschko ordered employers to send all staff home, other than essential service workers.
Taxi Prices
On the Monday morning when the lockdown started on April 5th, Uber rates in Kyiv went through the roof, up to 4 times, depending on time of day and demand.
Odessa
Due to the bad 3rd WAVE COVID #’s in Odessa, the Odessa City Department is now considering the possibility of introducing a strict lockdown, as in Kiev.
Lviv
Seems to be on as almost strict lockdown as Kiev.
