Complete time-lapse build for "The Chameleon" custom guitar.
Feels like a Les Paul, but sounds very much like a Telecaster.
Chambered mahogany body, hard maple with paisley fabric top w/ epoxy. Shellac on the back. Bolt-on 11-layer multi-laminate neck (maple, purpleheart, oak, mahogany, with granadillo fretboard). 24.75" scale, 22 frets, 14" radius, with gunstock oil finish.
Gotoh top-load hard-tail bridge, Gotoh SG-381 Tuners (3x3), Schaller strap locks. Telecaseter style pickups (reverse slant Fender pickup at the bridge, over-wound generic tele-style neck pickup). 3-way pickup selector with CTS 250K potentiometers, and a 0.047 µF capacitor on tone control. Tone knob has push/pull for gain boost. When pushed, controls are like a normal Telecaster. When pulled, the middle position of the pickup selector will have a gain boost, and the bridge position acts as a kill switch.
