HTML5 is a programming language used to structure and present content on WWW. It is the fifth edition of the markup language. It is used to improve language support for multimedia while making it presentable. It is also used to develop cross platform mobile applications. It introduces APIs for complex web applications. Through HTML5 one can also add graphics and other multimedia content without depending upon the APIs and plugins. HTML has introduced new APIs and also made them and the DOMs a fundamental part of its specification.
HTML5 has some new features, viz. cross document messaging, times media playback, document editing, browser history management, drag and drop, web storage, microdata and canvas for 2D drawing. The web browsers compatible with HTML5 will give similar results in case of incorrect syntax, This is because of lexing and parsing.
