Water Filter Bottle Filter Construction Instructions
Time required: 1 hour.
Using the following instructions, you can build your own water filter outdoors from a bottle. This allows you to transform contaminated water from rivers, lakes, or even puddles into clearer water.
Use charcoal as activated carbon for your filter. Activated carbon can bind even strong contaminants like chemical toxins and organic residues.
The DIY water filter consists of several layers that can be adapted to your specific outdoor situation. Use whatever materials you have available, such as sand, gravel, grass, charcoal, and fabric.
Important: Even if the water appears clearer after filtration, keep in mind that this is only temporarily filtered water and not 100% safe drinking water.
Tip: For safety and to prevent infections from organic pathogens, either boil the water or disinfect it with Micropur.
