REVIEW -
Trying out my new LTD SCT-607B Stephen (Stef) Carpenter Signature. I've wanted this guitar for so long and it is so gorgeous. The finish is spectacularly beautiful. Stefs Signature Fluence Pickups by Fishman are really articulate and I have been impressed by both the Bridge and the Middle(Neck) Pickup despite reading a lot of negative reviews on them. The Neck pickup might not everyone taste, but its great for me and how I play, I just wish there was a coil splitting/tapping option.
Construction is very impressive for a Made in Korea guitar, just a couple of really minor paint bleeds into the binding and one dot marker is a fraction of a millimeter off-centre.
Position of the middle pick-up takes a while getting used to, but to be honest it is not a deal breaker, I got used to it after 1-2 hours of solid play. Upper access is limited so shredders might be better off sticking to deeper cuts.
Tonally it is incredible, tuning is so stable thanks to the baritone scale length, sound is fat but not muddy, chords sound absolutely massive. It is a Dj0nt Machine but, has phenomenal sustain and very pretty clean tones from both pickups. It came perfectly set up and intonation was perfect out of the box.
