【FE Engage】Jade & Ike Casually Slays an Army
Jade & Ike solos a random skirmish in Fire Emblem Engage, on Hard Mode Classic.
Jade was one of those characters that I initially just ignored after recruiting. But once I learned more about her (as a writer, I've felt a natural affinity toward this character, lmao), I picked her up some time after Chapter 10. When Ike (the gigachad who constantly fights Dimitri over my most favorite lord title) arrived, she was the obvious first choice to pass that ring over to, and I have never looked back since.
Now that I look back on this video, I now have this hilarious headcanon that this is how Jade wiped those bandits she claimed to have solo'd in Alear's A support.
Don't think too much of this gameplay, though. I just wanted an excuse to record something for this game to get my feet wet (ignoring the Sommie meme I posted a while ago). The strategy here is... pretty straightforward. Just advance until Jade can huddle every remaining enemy to the center, then group them up perfectly for the Great Aether chip damage. As you saw, it was just enough damage to destroy all the ranged threats (except the Sages) in the next enemy phase to save a whole turn.
If you're wondering why I didn't kill the sages outright from the start, that was part of the strategy. Wrath requires you to be on as low HP as possible, and they're the only ones who can even scratch her, since there are no back-up units on this map to chip away at Jade.
Despite the meh story, I love Engage. This is still my first playthrough (I'm on Chapter 18 atm), and I will do a Maddening run after this one. Still thinking up content ideas for it.
