How to create a specification in AutoCAD automatically (DXF → Excel)

Manually extracting data for light fixtures, sockets, switches, and other equipment from a drawing is always time-consuming and easy to make mistakes. In this video, I demonstrate a program that automatically generates an Excel bill of materials directly from blocks on a plan.
✅ What the program does
Reads block attributes (e.g., name, power, part number, specification name, manufacturer, etc.)
Allows you to substitute your own attribute names if yours differs.
Generates a ready-made Excel file, convenient for formatting a bill of materials: items, name/type/brand, equipment code, manufacturer, unit. Changes, quantity
🛠 How to use (step by step)
Save the drawing as a DXF file (in AutoCAD, use the standard "Save As" command)
Open the program and select the DXF file.
If necessary, specify the names of the required attributes (or leave the default ones).
Click "Generate Excel" → save the file.
Done—in a few seconds, you'll have a specification table in Excel.
📌 This is especially useful when working with large volumes and you need to quickly get a "nearly finished" specification without any manual effort.
