A commissioned officer is an officer employed under the Turkish Armed Forces Personnel Law No. 926, who has completed at least four years of university or higher education and meets the conditions explained in the following sections of this page.
Probed officer candidates who pass all selection stages and are placed within the quota based on their ranking and preferences will undergo "Basic Military Training and Officer Understanding Training." Those who successfully complete the training will be sent to the course at the school of their assigned class with the rank of "Lieutenant." Those who successfully complete the course will be assigned to appropriate positions within the Force Command to which they are placed and will begin their duties. Candidates who are accepted into the Special Forces Command will be trained according to the current legislation.
Active duty non-commissioned officers are those employed under the Turkish Armed Forces Personnel Law No. 926, consisting of men and women who have completed at least two years of university or higher education and meet the conditions explained in the subsequent sections of this guide.
Candidates for active duty non-commissioned officer positions, after successfully passing all selection stages and being accepted into the quota based on their ranking, will undergo "Basic Military Training and Non-Commissioned Officer Understanding (ASTTASAK) Training." Those who successfully complete this training will be sent to the course at the school of their assigned class with the rank of "Sergeant." Those who successfully complete this course will be assigned to appropriate positions within the Force Command to which they are placed and will begin their duties.
