Unfortunately, the existence of prehistoric creatures in Turkey constitutes a very little known area due to the lack of research. In this series, I will talk about the species that lived and disappeared throughout the world and in Turkey during the Paleolithic age, making use of the studies of Turkish scientists as much as possible. The terms Paleolithic and Neolithic were first coined by the scientist John Lubbock in 1865 to refer to prehistoric times. The Neolithic era covers the period between 10,000 and 6000 BC, when people settled down and began to deal with agriculture and animal husbandry.
The Paleolithic era, on the other hand, covers a very difficult and cruel time period for people, which started about 2 million years ago and ended around 10,000 BC, lived as consumers rather than producers, benefited from nature as hunters and gatherers. Most of the animals I will talk about in this series are creatures that lived in this date range, which covers almost 99% of the longest time period in human history. During this period, people did not live in a single region, but in various groups and clans spread throughout the world.
Therefore, it is not possible to describe groups of people by squeezing them into a single geography or definition. The difficulty of the region where each human group lived and the diversity of animals were completely different. Some struggled with small predators and reptiles, while others had to share their lives with giant predators. In this section, I mainly talked about Lucy, Australopithecus, Homo habilis, Homo rudolfensis.
Like every child, I was a curious and inquisitive child. I can only say that growing up and becoming an adult did not stop me from this sense of discovery. Sea, nature, history and science have been my interests since my childhood that kept my desire to live alive.
If you manage to remain passionate about the sea, nature, history and science, regardless of the time and conditions; It means we are together on this journey.
