How to Protect Your Vacant House from Unwanted Guests
You can protect your vacant house from unwanted guests when it's listed for sale, undergoing renovations or for whatever reason, you're leaving it vacant. In this video, I am going to share 4 tips on how you can protect your vacant property.
Tip #1
Install a monitoring CCTV: It can protect your property day and night and provide vital evidence should anyone attempt to gain unlawful access to your empty property. Some people have the Ring, ADT, Blink and there are many more systems out there…you just have to shop around for the best one for you.
Tip #2
Befriend the Neighbor: Ask the neighbor to keep an eye on the property. Give them your contact information and ask them to contact you if they see anything suspicious. Some neighbors will generously provide you with the date, time and anything that may have occurred at the property, but just know that some neighbors won’t.

Visit the Property: Make visits to the property and if you’re not in the area, ask a friend or relative to drive by to see if they see anything unusual.

Hire a Security Guard Service: This could be one of the most expensive routes to go, but I’m beginning to see a lot more of this in certain communities. You can have the Security Service drive by the property routinely or patrol the property during a specific time. The cheaper route to go is the hire a house sitter. It could be somebody you know who would not mind making a few extra dollars.
Maybe you have moved out of your house, and it hasn’t sold yet or you may be your house is undergoing a major renovation, but whatever the reason is for leaving your house vacant, it’s important to remember to protect it while you’re gone. And remember a vacant home is vulnerable to theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry.
