Meet artist Adeyemi Michael
Artist Adeyemi Michael talks rollerskating through Peckham and his fond memories of growing up in this corner of south east London.
Adeyemi’s work ‘Entitled’ features in the current exhibition at the SLG, ‘Lagos, Peckham, Repeat: Pilgrimage to the Lakes’. In his film, he subverts colonial narratives by casting his own mother as a conqueror, riding triumphantly through Peckham on a horse. Hear the artist discuss the work and the installation at the SLG, which is a recreation of his childhood living room.
