80FPS - As Smooth as E-Ink Gets Right Now

In this first test, I wanted to see whether that specification actually translates into noticeably faster e-ink. The answer is yes. Scrolling through a browser is remarkably smooth, particularly in Hyper mode, and immediately feels different from most e-ink phones.
There is still a compromise. Faster refresh introduces visible ghosting, and the display does not appear to have the brighter oxide backplane found on something like the BOOX Palma 2. Bigme’s quick-refresh shortcut does, however, make it easy to clean the screen once you have finished scrolling.
This is an early look at the HiBreak Dual, including its e-ink display, front light, Hyper Refresh performance and secondary LCD screen. There is much more still to test.

One thing you can say is that Bigme are working hard to give people what they want here. We were all a little shocked by the LCD screen on the HiBreak Dual, and so they immediately put this one into development.
Two observations I have, from the images, it doesn't look like the LCD will protrude quite as much as we maybe first thought. And secondly... where is the weirdly mishapen pen going to sit in this case... it seems the answer will be loosely in your pocket.

As always, remember that Kickstarter projects are not finished retail products. Bigme has a good track record of bringing devices to market, but you are still pledging to support someone’s entrepreneurial ambitions rather than buying a completed product in the usual sense.
Only pledge what you can afford to lose.
