Byron Henry is a Partner in the Appellate Law Section of Scheef & Stone, L.L.P. with his practice focusing on the areas of business litigation and civil appeals. He is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Henry was recognized as a Texas Rising Star by Thomson-Reuters in 2010 and has been selected as a Texas Super Lawyer in Appellate Law by Thomson-Reuters every year since.
Mr. Henry has filed papers and briefs in numerous state and federal trial and appellate courts including the Supreme Court of the United States, Supreme Court of Texas, the Fifth and Sixth Circuits, and successfully argued cases in a number of Texas courts of appeals. Mr. Henry also provides advice to clients and attorneys on legal and business strategies, as well as trial support in complex civil cases in the area of experts, summary judgment, jury charge practice, and post-judgment motion practice.
He is a member of the State Bar of Texas Appellate Section, the Dallas Bar Association Appellate Section (Chair 2013), College of the State Bar of Texas, Collin County Bar Association (President 2013), and Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit. Mr. Henry is also a member of the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee for District 1 and serves as a volunteer judge for Plano Teen Court. Mr. Henry received his undergraduate degree in 1994 from Howard Payne University, where he was a member of the Douglas MacArthur Academy of Freedom Interdisciplinary Honors Program and a Hatton W. Sumners Scholar. He received his law degree in 1997 from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law where he was citation editor for the law review. He and his wife Mari have one daughter, Madeline. He and his family are active members of First Baptist Church in Frisco.
