SUSE Labs Conference 2018 - What's so hard about multipath, and what do we do about it?
Multipath IO is a technology that's supposed to improve system stability. Yet multipath storage configurations are often affected by weird errors. In the worst case, systems don't even boot with multipath enabled.
I will try to explain the particular pitfalls of multipath configurations, propose a few typical signs of misconfiguration to watch out for, and give an overview about recent developments that will hopefully reduce the error rate. I will also touch the subject of NVMe native multipath, and how it relates to the well-established dm-multipath.
